Privacy policy
bartis.me is my personal portfolio site. It runs on a server I operate in Germany. This page covers the limited data processed when you visit or write to me, and the rights you have under the EU GDPR.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the provider named in the imprint. Privacy requests: darius@bartis.me.
2. Data I process
Hosting and access logs
The site is served from a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany, which processes data on my behalf. When you load a page, the reverse proxy records an access log entry: your IP address, the requested host and path, the request method, the status code and the time. Browser headers such as the user agent are not logged. The logs serve security and abuse defence. They are rotated by size, not by date: once they reach their size limit, the oldest entries are overwritten. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, a legitimate interest in running the site securely.
DNS
The domain's DNS is hosted by Cloudflare. Page requests do not pass through Cloudflare; they go straight to the server above.
Mail to bartis.me addresses is handled by Microsoft 365 as a processor. If you write to me, your address and message are stored for as long as needed to handle your request, and beyond that only where retention is legally required. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract or its preparation, otherwise Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.
3. Cookies and tracking
No cookies, no analytics, no embeds and no third-party scripts. Fonts and images are served from this site itself, so loading a page makes no requests to anyone else.
4. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:

- Object to processing based on Art. 6 (1)(f) (Art. 21)

5. Changes
This policy is updated when the setup changes. The current version is always the one linked in the footer.
